Linda first tried to return to their old apartment, but it had been rented out to someone else. Desperate, she headed to Ms. Robins’ office. At least, she hoped, she’d be able to get answers out of the crazy bitch. Except the office was closed and dark. Linda banged on the door for a good ten minutes, yelling in her now deep voice, and people were beginning to give her frightened looks. Suddenly, she heard a soft voice from behind her. “Sorry, but do you know if this used to be Ms. Robins’ office?” Linda turned around to see a tall but delicate-looking young woman with dark eyes and brown hair pulled back into a messy bun. She was wearing a hoodie over a white button-down shirt and baggy dark blue jeans. There was something about those eyes. They were haunted, pleading, and yet familiar. “No...” Linda said, her voice cracking with emotion. “Okay,” the woman said. “Thanks.” “Wait! M-Mike?” The woman whirled around, her pretty eyes wide with a mix of joy and horror. “Linda?” she said, her voice shaking. “Oh my God. Linda!” They rushed into each other’s arms and held each other tightly. Mike sobbed, clutching Linda’s shoulder and burying his face in her neck as Linda stroked his hair. “Oh, baby,” Linda cooed. “I’m so, so, so damn sorry. I didn’t know! I didn’t know! I would never have done this to you, I promise!” Mike clutched Linda’s muscular body and bawled. “Shhh.” Linda stroked his hair. Why wasn’t she crying, she wondered? “It’s okay now. You’re safe. I’m here.” Finally, Mike pulled away, leaving tear stains on Linda’s shirt. “L-Linda,” he said, his voice wavering. “I don’t know what Ms. Robins did, but it made me get a... a... I’m a woman now. Like, all the way!” “I know, baby. I made changes, too. I can remember going through the whole process. I just can’t remember why I did it.” “So... you’re a man?” Mike said. “I mean, down there?” “Yes. I’ve...” God, this was weird to say. “Got a dick.” Mike shook his head in disbelief. He was actually way cuter as a girl than Linda ever could have imagined. “My wife has a dick,” he said. “What the hell is going on?” “I don’t know, baby.” Linda pulled Mike close again. “But we’ll find Ms. Robins and make her pay for what she did to us.” Unfortunately, six months later, and even with police involvement, Ms. Robins was nowhere to be found. In fact, there was no record of her having ever existed at all. She had never graduated college, never taken a job, never even voted. It was as if she was never a real person. Linda and Mike looked into options for reversing their changes, but nothing looked promising. Craving something resembling an everyday life, they moved back in together and tried to get used to their new bodies. Oddly, the fights and disagreements they used to have never returned. Mike no longer seemed arrogant or controlling, and Linda no longer seemed unsupportive and bitchy. In fact, despite their changes, they were happier than ever. Now, a year after they awoke from their trances, Linda and Mike are renewing their vows. This time, though, Mike is wearing a veil, and Linda is in a tux. “You’re so gorgeous,” Linda whispers as she stares at Mike. She doesn’t know why, but it makes her unbearably aroused to see this gorgeous woman staring back at her, especially knowing that she used to be her husband. Was that all part of the hypnosis? “You’re not so bad yourself, sweetie,” says Mike with a wink. “And you’re pulling off that tuxedo way better than I ever could.” Linda kissed Mike’s full, soft lips. “You know what? I think we’ll be okay.” “I think so, too. As long as we’re together.” Mike blushed. “I’m really looking forward to tonight.” “Are you sure you’re ready? I don’t want to push you into doing anything you don’t want to do.” “You aren’t,” Mike said. “Believe me. It took me a while, but now I can’t wait to feel what you felt when we made love.” Linda couldn’t help but smile. “Well, it’ll be a bit different. I’m a lot bigger than you used to be.”
